April 2010: Police officers suffer hearing damage from radios

In April 2010 The Telegraph reports that 'in the past five years a total of 815 officers around Britain have reported having their hearing damaged, some permanently, by a variety of causes - the top one being radio 'spikes' - or screeches - from police headsets.'
