AdaptEar® has a range of adaptor leads available to allow connection to a wide range of equipment. It also has two inputs enabling the user to monitor two sources simultaneously, for example two PMRs, a PMR and an MP3 player or a PMR and a Smartphone.
AdaptEar® is fitted in-line between a sound source such as a Walkie Talkie or Private Mobile Radio (PMR) or a broadcast communications system and the user's headphones or earpieces. Once adjusted to match the sensitivity of the headphones or earpieces AdaptEar® provides the user with control against high levels of sound. The sensitivity adjustment allows the user to set the output level to suit the sensitivity of their headphones or earpieces. Whilst controlling the sound level in the headphones or earpieces AdaptEar® also provides a clear visual indication that it is working and that the optimum listening level has been reached. AdaptEar® provides a return path for a microphone to the device it’s connected to.
AdaptEar® is a discrete device that plugs in line between a PMR or broadcast communications system and the users headphone or earpieces. It provides the user with control of high sound levels.
To provide optimum control the sensitivity of the AdaptEar® should be adjusted before use, by the user, to match the sensitivity of the headphone or earpieces they are using and the intended listening period. Providing the user with the ability to change the sensitivity, allows them to set AdaptEar® for use with different headphones or earpieces, for example some AdaptEar® users have generic earpieces for low ambient noise conditions, changing to custom moulded in ear monitors with custom moulded attenuators for high ambient noise environments.
When excessive signal levels from the PMR or broadcast communications system occur the control light of the AdaptEar® flashes informing the user that they might be advised to turn down the volume of the source. This feature also enables the user to test the unit is operational before use.
AdaptEar® allows the user to safely connect headphone or earpieces, using the appropriate Factory Accessories cables to a wide range of communications devices.
AdaptEar® has two inputs, a 6 pin latching miniDIN primary source and a 4 pole 3.5 jack Aux In for a secondary source which enables the simultaneous connection and monitoring of other audio sources.
Using the Factory Accessories cables enables AdaptEar® to operate in a wide range of configurations, for example.
